This manual provides therapists with up-to-date information about how to implement TF-CBT for trauma-impacted LGBTQ youth, and also includes valuable resources from the Family Acceptance Project (FAP) ™ . We are extremely grateful to Dr. Caitlin Ryan of the FAP for her generous contributions to this project, and to the clinicians who participated in the NCTSN-sponsored TF-CBT LGBTQ Learning Community to develop this manual. Pilot data from that project support the effectiveness of the TF-CBT applications described in this manual for improving PTSD symptoms in trauma-impacted LGBTQ youth.
This is considered the most recent, gold standard treatment manual for Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. This web course was built following the principles outlined here, but the book contains much more detailed information and provides nuance that is difficult to convey in an online format.
